Brief:
To design both teaching and learning syllabuses for educators in special education schools as a supplement when teaching children with special needs.
I designed teaching and learning syllabuses for special education schools. These were meant to support educators when teaching children with special needs.
The first guide is about Communication and Language (C&L) tools. It shows not just how to use these tools, but also how to choose them. It includes ways to assess each student’s C&L needs by working with teachers, therapists and families. This guide also offers different methods to measure communication and language skills, with practical tools and examples.
The second guide focuses on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) for students with special needs in Singapore. It provides lesson plans and strategies for topics like conflict management and responsible decision-making. It emphasises working together with students, families and teachers. It links each lesson to each student’s individual education plan.

I led the visual direction to make the content clear and appealing. I chose a clean and simple layout, with bright colours to catch the eye. Colourful illustrations highlight key points, helping educators to understand complex ideas. To keep things neat, I used calmer colours for chapter dividers, which guide readers through the books without confusion.
